Kristin Chenoweth Still Recovering from 2012 Good Wife Set Accident
The road to recovery is often a long and arduous one, for anyone and any circumstance. When something awful happens to someone, it’s not that easy to heal, both physically and emotionally, and no one knows that better than Kristin Chenoweth, the pint-sized Broadway star with the big voice. The 46-year-old actress was guest starring on the hit show “The Good Wife” in 2012 when a completely freak accident occurred. A piece of lighting equipment fell from the ceiling, hitting her on the head and sending her to the hospital.
She was forced to leave her role on the show because of the time it took her to recover, and she says that even two years following the accident, she’s still working on her recovery. “I’m still in physical therapy. But I’m progressing. I’m going the right way, not the wrong way,” she says of her long road to recovery.
The singer was performing at Lenox Hill Hospital’s Autumn Ball at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City this week when she opened up about her recovery and the challenges that she associates with her freak accident. The accident left her with continuous problems with her legs and hips, as well as a fractured skull. She also opened up about how nervous she was about recording her new album, which is being released next week.
“I was the most nervous I’ve ever been. There’s no Auto-Tune – it’s live,” she says of recording the album in her hometown in Oklahoma. The live performance was scary for her because she knew it was being recorded and it would turn into an album millions would hear. And for fans who have missed seeing her recently, she will be back. She’s coming to Broadway in February with a role in “On the Twentieth Century.”
