Jesse & Lacy's Threesome With Christy Brought Out the Slut-Shamers on 'Bachelor in Paradise'
The talked-about offensive moment involving Bachelor in Paradise's Jesse Kovacs has been revealed: he seemingly had a threesome with Lucy Aragon and Christy Hansen. But what Kovacs himself called so offensive it might not be allowed to air, I didn't really have a problem with. I mean, it was a consensual ménage à trois amongst two friends and a guy they liked. If they all agreed to it, why is that offensive? It seems like again we have some slut-shamers on this show. First they attacked Clare about going in the ocean with Juan Pablo to the point that she left the show. With Clare gone, the rest of the contestants turned on Jesse, Lucy, and Christy, tittering about their night spent together with extremely judgmental faces.
We already know people have sex on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette so it's not really surprising that they would on this show, too. I certainly wouldn't say having sex is offensive. I don't even think adding a third party to the bed makes it offensive if everyone was okay with what was happening.
If anything it's offensive how quickly everyone was to slam someone else's sexual exploits. Is Paradise taking place in 1950 or 2014? Come on, you're on a reality dating show, why are you allowed to judge anyone else's relationship?
In the end someone did get hurt though, because Jesse was faced with the task of giving his rose to only one of the women and in the end Lucy was sent packing.
But that's just how the show works; it wasn't offensive. It wasn't wrong to have a threesome either. In fact the only offensive thing Jesse really did was calling Lucy "what's her nuts." That was kind of low. But not as low as the rest of the BIP cast putting on their judge-y hats when it came to someone else's relationship.
This just in: consensual threesomes are not offensive, so the contestants need to stop trying to make it seem like that's a bad thing to do.
